Challenge Tuesday - Room 1 & Room 2 Making Masks

From this week of Lockdown, in our Junior School, we have decided to have a Challenge Tuesday every week. This week's Challenge Tuesday was to create our own mask to cover our nose and mouth. We could even dress up as a character. Room 2 children and teacher also visited us on our online class to share their masks. We had fun talking about our masks.

Can you guess who is hiding behind each mask?

Lucia's Writing

One of our Reading books for this week was My Name is Laloifi.

After playing the Criss Cross Candy Floss game mentioned in the story, we were also supposed to say our name and favourite colour like Laloifi did on her first day at school.

Here is Lucia's homework writing her name and favourite colour at home.

Well done, Lucia! You are such a good learner showing great Ako by following your lovely mum's instruction.  I am very proud of you reading your sentences to us on our online Hangout Meet class today.

Leilani's Backward Counting

In our Maths lessons this week, we are learning to count forwards and backwards to 10 and 20.

Here is how Leilani has shown her great practice of counting backwards from 10 by drawing a rocket ship blasting off counting down, and a caterpillar with 10 on its head going back to its tail to 0.

Kyrie's Ako at Home

Kyrie has been very busy learning during this week. He has been following his lessons online and completing some Reading, Writing and Maths work. Here are Kyrie's work. Ka pai, Kyrie for working hard! These are the sight words Kyrie learnt from the book I Can Read.
In our Maths lessons, we learnt about 2D shapes and decided to look for those shapes around us. Here are the objects in which Kyrie saw different shapes.
Then Kyrie practised drawing these shapes and created a castle out of shapes.
